Author George Shirling, a sports psychologist for 30 years and one of the founders of Falls Creek, separates fact from the fiction. Exploding Sports Myths explains how and why so many widely held beliefs about how to inspire the participants and improve sporting performances are not only unhelpful but simply wrong.
George Shirling arrived in Falls Creek in 1962, building the original Koki Alpine Lodge which opened in 1965 with 14 beds. George graduated in sport psychology in 1981 and was invited to become team psychologist for the Australian Winter Olympic team which went to Albertville, France, in 1992.
George Shirling passed away on 27th February 2023. He was actively involved in Falls Creek until his passing.
