Renting Vintage Gear Terms & Conditions

 Please read the Terms & Conditions for our Rental products and services.


Please choose the rental of your vintage snow suit carefully and check the sizing guide for the best fit if you are shopping online. Once you’ve chosen a vintage outfit to rent, there are no swaps or exchanges.

All rental gear must be pre-booked online or booked in person in the shop

Please note; most of our vintage clothing only comes in the size you see. Unlike new clothing store, we can’t offer a product in every size. However, to compensate for that we try and offer a wide variety of different vintage clothing styles to choose from.

 

Definitions:

  • Pick Up/Shipping Day: the day you collect the items in person at the Studio, or the day your items are shipped to you.
  • Return Day: the day you return the items in person at the Studio, or the day your items are shipped back to I Dream of Snow and you’ve given I Dream of Snow the parcel a tracking number.
  • Security Bond: the security bond you pay for the items. Held as security against any damage to the item/s. Is refunded upon the return of the rental items without damage.

 

The Bond Deposit Security categories are as follows: 

  • Vintage snow pants & overalls - $250
  • Vintage snow jackets & après jackets - $250
  • Vintage one-piece snow suits - $400
  • Vintage matched set snow jacket & pants - $500
  • Vintage padded racing jumpers & snow jumpers - $250
  • Vintage Après snow boots - $250
  • Very Valuable Vintage - $1000

 

Booking Periods:

  • 1 day

 

Rental Conditions: The shopper must product a current driver’s licence or passport and valid credit card for identification and bond security.

 

All clothing rental bookings that are picked up in person by the shopper require a 20% deposit of total hire fee at the time of booking, with the outstanding amount including security bond to be paid on pick up. Deposits will not be refunded if cancelled within 7 days of pick-up/shipping date. Prices are effective March 2023 and subject to change without notice.

 

All rental bookings that are posted to the shopper must be paid for in advance included Security Bond. 20% of the Security Bond will not be refunded if cancelled within 7 days of scheduled postage. Prices are effective March 2023 and subject to change without notice.

 

Vintage Gear Pick Up Day, Return Day & Late Returns.

  1. Shop Click & Collect Pick up Day is:
    • Vintage Gear can be collected from the shop in person between 1pm – 6pm before the first day of hire. Collection between 1pm – 6pm is not counted as a hire day. A minimum of 1 full day hire will be charged for vintage gear rental collected before 1pm on Pick Up day.
  2. Shop Click & Collect Return Day is:
    • Vintage Gear can be returned to the shop via the drop off box at any time on the return day or earlier. Gear returned after 9am after the last day of hire will be charged as a full day.
    • Vintage Gear can be collected from the I Dream of Snow Shop in Falls Creek.

 

Loss & Damage Policy.

Minor damage is built into the price of the rental for any repairable damage which includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Rips, tears, stains, holes.
  • Sweat stains and body odours, smoke smells, strong smells a reasonable person would notice
  1. Damaged gear will be charged at the discretion of the manager. Repairs start at $80.
  2. Gear that is lost, stolen or irreparable will be charged at the product’s full price.
  3. Normal wear and tear are excluded from the damage clause.

 

Rental Terms & Conditions – Renters Agreement.

  1. The shopper is responsible for the return of the vintage gear in good order and condition.
  2. The shopper is financially responsible for any damages, however caused, to the gear.
  3. The shopper agrees to return the hired gear to I Dream of Snow no later than 6pm on the last day of the hiring period.
  4. Once the shopper has completed the hire process including payment of security bond I Dream of Snow are not obliged to give a refund under any circumstances.
  5. On agreeing to the terms and conditions, the shopper acknowledges that snow sport recreational activities are dangerous and come with inherent risks and hazards including serious personal injury and sometimes death. The shopper accepts all such risks and hereby waives the right to sue I Dream of Snow for any personal injury or death suffered by the shopper in any way whatsoever caused by or arising from such injuries.
  6. I Dream of Snow strongly recommends that all snow sports people wear accredited new helmets whenever engaging in snow sports. I Dream of Snow also recommends that snowboarders wear wrist guards.
  7. The equipment and services I Dream of Snow supplies are rendered with due care and skill based on the information I Dream of Snow receives from the shopper.
  8. I Dream of Snow recommends travel insurance when undertaking snow sports.

 

Rental Refund, Amendment & Cancellation Policy.

  1. Refunds are processed through original payment, less the minimum merchant fee of 3.5%.
  2. Refunds will not be given for unused days in the middle of your hire period.
  3. Refunds are not available on specials, promotions or discounts unless otherwise stated.
  4. Cancellations or amendments for any items booked online with I Dream of Snow directly through www.idreamofsnow.com must be finalised at least 48 hours before the first day of hire.
  5. Cancellations on all items that are refundable will incur a merchant fee 3.5% (these costs are not recoverable from the merchant).
  6. Full cancellations received up to 7 days before the first day of hire are subject to a 10% cancellation fee.
  7. Cancellations of any items on the day of rental will incur 40% cancellation fee.
  8. All online hire bookings must be made 48 hours before the first day of hire. First day of hire is the first full day as per the booking request, not the shipping time frame.

 

COVID-19 Rental Refund, Amendment & Cancellation Policy.

I Dream of Snow want to be as flexible as possible can whilst covering costs. Any Covid-19 related changes can be made up until arrival & collection at the studio or the day of shipping of gear.

Bookings or individuals that cannot travel due to the following Covid-19 reasons will be refunded or credited for the following year, depending on preference. All cancellations on items that are refundable under our Covid-19 policy will incur the minimum merchant fee 3.5% as these costs are not recoverable from the merchant.

COVID-19 reasons for cancelling a booking:

  • Have tested Covid-19 positive
  • Showing symptoms of Covid-19
  • Have been ordered to isolate
  • Affected by a Border closure and unable to travel
  • Affected by being in a Lockdown area and unable to travel

 

  1. A refund can be provided for early rental on returns for bookings made directly with I Dream of Snow online or in store at the studio. Gear is to be returned before 6.00 pm on the last day, any refund is processed with that being the conclusion of the last day. Refunds are processed through original payment, less the minimum merchant fee of 3.5%.
  • For online bookings this can be done by emailing info@idreamofsnow.com within 14 days of your return day.
  • For instore bookings, refunds can only be done instore at the time of departure. An in-store credit can be claimed within 14 days by emailing us.
