Curiosity Chocolate's Hazlenut Bar: A classic combination of chocolate, finely ground hazelnuts and hazelnut pieces in bar form. Made using locally grown hazelnuts from Happy Wombat farm near Food New South Wales, this bar is rich, smooth and deeply satisfying without being overly sweet.
The story of chocolates and hazelnuts (Gianduja), goes back to 1806 in Turin, then under French control that prevented British ships with goods including cocoa beans, from entering the ports. A chocolatier in Turin named Michel Prochet extended the little chocolate he had by mixing it with local hazelnuts a combination that has never gone out of fashion.
Handmade artisan chocolates, made with love by Curiosity Chocolates, a small business based in Jindabyne, in the beautiful New South Wales Snowy Mountains.
Curiosity Chocolates is named after Curiosity Rocks, a Jindabyne landmark and aboriginal sacred site at one end of Lake Jindabyne. The hill shaped pile of massive boulders is ancient and was most probably left behind by a melting glacier during the last ice age. Where possible they use local ingredients such as Alpine Pepper, raw honey from their own beehives and fruit and herbs from their garden.
